These classes include stormtroopers, imperial troops, light sabre guards, and bounty hunters. Each of the four classes in Galactic Battlegrounds are designed specifically to fill this role. This means that while battles are usually fought between various sides across planets, the objective in each battle is to be the first to reach a specific target, complete with a full recruitment of all soldiers. Unlike other RTS games however, it is instead focused on real-time strategies. In its basic mechanics, Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds follows the basics of RTS games where your objective is to build an empire and defeat the opposition. The game has been a critical success because it successfully combines different genres and gameplay aspects to produce something truly unique. An additional expansion pack, Clone Campaigns, came out on May 14, 2021, bringing two new sides and several new campaigns to the game. It was initially released on November 11, 2021. and LucasArts, the latter of which developed the Star Wars films.
